Our journey begins in the heart of India, in the 1960-70s, right after the end of the British Raj. What started as a humble wholesale business, offering essential commodities such as oil and whole grains, has blossomed into a multi-generational legacy that we proudly carry forward.

Fast forward from the 1980s to the early 2000s, a pivotal era for us. My father’s elder brother boldly ventured into the import of groceries, even when it was a labyrinth of legal complexities and exorbitant customs duties. We persevered, determined to cater to the discerning tastes of those who craved imported and exotic goods. Slowly but surely, the tides of legality turned in our favor, enabling us to expand our range of products.

Tragedy struck with the loss of my father’s elder brother, leaving my father as the sole torchbearer of our family business. Until 2008, we were known simply as “Unique Stores.” But then, my father’s journey took a transformative turn after a visit to North America. Inspired and enlightened, he rebranded our venture as “Happy & Healthy Foods,” a name that resonates with our ethos to this day.

My own path led me to the shores of Canada for higher education, where I pursued my engineering degree. Upon completion, I found that my salary expectations did not align with my aspirations. Life, however, has a way of guiding us down unexpected, yet meaningful, paths. It has been over two years now since I established “Forte Foods” in Canada. Our reach has extended across North America, including the United States and Canada, under various business names.

With a combined history spanning generations, we’ve proudly served over 30,000 orders in Canada during these two years and millions more in India through “Happy & Healthy Foods.”
